Position Title: Environment Specialist (Waste Management)
Business Division: Health Safety and Environment

Primary Purpose of the Job:

  • Develop, maintain and communicate corporate level waste management standards, specifications and best practice documentation and review them periodically for adequacy and effectiveness.
  • Provides guidance on industry best practice in managing hazardous/nonhazardous wastes and on methods to reduce resource use to avoid the attendant treatment and disposal cost and expenditures.
  • Participates and provides waste management discipline expertise in the conduct of Department scheduled performance audits.
  • Acts as a custodian of SAP Module for Waste Management, and avails reliable environmental data to inform management decision making and reporting purposes
  • Develops methods for the collection of waste inventories and leads corporate waste minimization studies and assessments.

Education:

  • B.Sc. in an Environmental Science / Engineering discipline or related subject, e.g. Chemical Engineering, preferably with Post Graduate degree/diploma in similar fields or equivalent experience.

Experience & Skills:

  • A minimum 8 years of professional experience in the oil and gas (O&G) industry, with experience in waste management, compliance assessment, auditing and reporting schemes (legal, corporate and management systems compliance).
  • Experience in the development of waste inventories and waste audits.
  • Work experience in the preparation of standards, procedures, specifications and reports.
  • Work experience in the development of corporate waste management plans and programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English language.
  • Able to influence and motivate operational teams.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and flexibility in work assignments.
