Position Title: Head of IT Strategy & Architecture
Business Division: Information and Communication Technology

Primary Purpose of the Job:

  • The Head of IT Strategy & Architecture is responsible for the development of the Corporate ICT overall strategies, strategic planning/management, quantitative objectives, KRIs, principles, and tactics relating to the information systems and technologies that the Corporation uses. 
  • The head defines the target state of information systems and technology within the Corporation and delivers the subsequent planning and enterprise architectures (EA) frameworks needed to achieve the target state.
  • The head establishes the ICT architecture board/panel and set the architecture governance required to successfully execute the ICT strategy.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters level degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an appropriate/equivalent Engineering/Business field.
  • Appropriate professional ICT certifications and/or experience; preferably in direct application to the Oil and Gas sector.

Experience & Skills:

  • A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in an enterprise ICT environment, with at least 5 years of demonstrated strategy management and enterprise architecture development experience.
  • Excellent experience and proven record in developing/implementing ICT strategic plans based on Balanced Scorecard or similar methodologies, and establishing ICT enterprise architecture (EA) frameworks and blueprints in reference to industry standard models, governance frameworks and best practices. Specifically requires knowledge and preferably certifications in TOGAF, Zachman and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) backed up by years of experience and implementations of enterprise networking, data centers, client support solutions, ERP, databases, MDM, etc.
  • Excellent experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) and establishment of related processes, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Operates independently using mature judgment in planning and performing assignments and achieving defined objectives.
  • Excellent people management, problem solving, persuasion, negotiation, and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and communicate with a multi-cultural and multi-national workforce.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate concepts as appropriate to customers, contractors, and staff.
