Position Title: Senior Petroleum Engineer
Business Division: Operated Onshore Oil Field Development

Primary Purpose of the Job:

  • Steward and perform technical supervision of Petroleum Engineering activities of the QP operated oilfields, including all aspects of well completion, workover and rigless wellwork (from job design to on-site implementation); well surveillance, well / field network performance modelling / optimization and reservoir management activities.  Participate in interdisciplinary reservoir study teams.


  • Minimum a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering or other related discipline.

Experience & Skills:

  • Prefer work experience of 15 years as a Petroleum Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry with demonstrated Surveillance/Production Engineering expertise in optimizing well production in large oil and gas fields.
  • Proven experience at recommending remedial wellwork solutions for oil and gas wells in heterogeneous reservoirs.
  • Experience with periodic production rate testing for wells and allocation of well test/production data.
  • General understanding of production surface facilities and well integrity management.
  • Experience with tubing & IPR modelling and Gas Lift design/troubleshooting.
  • Experience with interpretation of cased hole production and diagnostic logs.
  • Must have strong teamwork skills.  Experience working in a multicultural environment is a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, field staff and management.
  • Experience in acid stimulation of carbonate reservoirs.
  • Desirable to have experience working in mature producing fields where finding, assimilating, and integrating data from incomplete files and variable sources can be challenging.
  • Desirable to have experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Desirable to have experience in production and well integrity log interpretation.
  • Well and Reservoir Analysis Software:  OFM.
  • Well Inflow Performance Modelling Software:  PROSPER or similar.
  • General Allocation and Production Network Software: GAP or similar
  • Emeraude (desirable).
  • Familiar with EOR techniques such a miscible/immiscible and CO2 injection (desirable).
  • Desirable to have Project Management experience in integrating subsurface and surface requirements during project life cycle.
  • Familiar with SAP and project management tools, i.e. Primavera (desirable).
