Position Title: Petroleum Engineer
Business Division: Operated Onshore Oil Field Development

Primary Purpose of the Job:

  • Undertake Petroleum Engineering activities of the QP operated oilfields, including all aspects of drilling, well completion and workover activities (from job design to on-site implementation). 
  • Conduct well surveillance, including performance modelling and interpretation and as member of interdisciplinary reservoir study teams participate in reservoir management activities.


  • A BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering or other related discipline

Experience & Skills:

  • Prefer work experience of 10 years as a Petroleum Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry with demonstrated Surveillance/Production Engineering expertise in optimizing well production in large oil and gas fields. 
  • Proven experience at recommending remedial wellwork solutions for oil and gas wells in heterogeneous reservoirs
  • Experience with periodic production rate testing for wells and allocation of well test/production data 
  • General understanding of production surface facilities
  • Experience with tubing & IPR modelling and Gas Lift design/troubleshooting.
  • Experience with interpretation of cased hole production and diagnostic logs
  • Must have strong teamwork skills.  Experience working in a multicultural environment is a plus
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, field staff and management
  • Desirable to have experience working in mature producing fields where finding, assimilating, and integrating data from incomplete files and variable sources can be challenging
  • Desirable to have experience mentoring less experienced engineers
  • Experience in well integrity monitoring and management.
  • Desirable to have experience in production and well integrity log interpretation.
  • Well and Reservoir Analysis Software:  OFM
  • Well Inflow Performance Modelling Software:  PROSPER or similar
  • General Allocation and Production Network Software: GAP or similar
  • Emeraude (desirable).
