Position Title: Headmaster
Business Division: Dukhan English School

Primary Purpose of the Job:

  • Ensure the provision of an internationally recognized and high standard of British Education for the dependents of Corporation employees in Dukhan.
  • Monitor the quality of the curriculum and manages accordingly.
  • Direct the day-to-day operation of the school, co-ordinates school activities and staff communication.
  • Manage personnel, resources and finance; plans future material, manpower and budget requirements.
  • Responsible for staff performance and development; interviews, selects and retains high quality staff in conjunction with QP Recruitment department.
  • Directs all office administration, record keeping and all correspondence to internal and external contacts.
  • Manage the public image of the school.
  • Maintain and foster good relations between the school and parents, the local community and other schools/official bodies.
  • Officially liaise with, the Supreme Council/Ministry of Education, News and Broadcasting services.
  • Have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the latest developments in Educational philosophy and research into how students learn.

Education:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (Essential).
  • Appropriate professional training further to initial teaching qualifications further relevant management qualification NPQH (Or Registration) (Desirable).

Experience & Skills:

  • Have excellent knowledge and understanding of the latest developments in Educational philosophy and can apply effectively knowledge of research into how students learn in an educational setting.
  • Proven reputation as a Head teacher in a British Curriculum school (Essential).
  • Leadership experience in a large school (Essential).
  • Successful experience working with parents, governors and wider community (Essential).
  • Experience of conducting staff recruitment campaigns (Essential).
  • Teaching a variety of ages and in a multicultural environment (Essential).
  • Significant experience of working with children for whom English is their second language (Essential).
  • Successful experience of school development planning (Essential).
  • Successful management of resources and balancing budgets (Essential).
  • International Experience (Essential).
  • Experience of a 4-19 school (Desirable).
  • Experience of Working within a Corporation or Industry (Desirable).
