Marketing – LPG, Sulphur and Shipping

The LPG, Sulphur and Shipping Department is responsible for executing QPSPP’s commercial strategy through the development and implementation of marketing plans for LPG and Sulphur. The key areas include:

  1. Customer identification, 
  2. Development of sales proposals, 
  3. Tendering and conducting negotiations with customer (spot and term).
  4. Scheduling and coordinating lifting activities with customers. 
Marketing maintains the integrity of contractual documentation and ensures that the necessary data is accurately recorded in Q-TRADES​.
The Shipping Department provides all marine transport functional expertise and charter vessels (spot, term and COA’s), including advice on freight economics to maximize value associated with the sale of all Regulated Products. The Shipping Department also charters vessels for domestic movements between Qatari ports. Shipping is responsible for the implementation, operation and continuous enhancement of the in-house system, SERDAL, to screen all vessels calling at Qatar ports.


Marketing – Refined Products, Naphtha and Condensate

The Refined Products, Naphtha and Condensate Department is in charge of executing QPSPP’s commercial strategy through the development and implementation of marketing plans for products related to Refined Products, Naphtha and Condensate. The main areas include customer identification, development of sales proposals, tendering and conducting negotiations with customers (spot and term) then scheduling and coordinating lifting activities with customers and load ports for these products. Marketing maintains the integrity of contractual documentation and ensures that the necessary data is accurately recorded in Q-TRADES​.


Business Performance & Market Analysis

The Business Performance & Market Analysis Department is an independent advisory function to ensure all initiatives, proposals and strategies are objectively assessed for consistency with the purpose and intent of QPSPP. The key responsibilities are developing the medium (next year) and long range (5 year+) corporate strategies. The department supports near term contract development activities and performs independent economics assessment of all prospective sales prior to approvals. The department’s team is also involved in performance analysis, reporting, organizing and managing the Quality Assurance System (QAS).

Non-Regulated Marketing

The Non-Regulated Marketing Department plays a strategic role in QP’s core business and strives to present the State of Qatar in the best professional manner within the global Oil industry, in line with QP’s mission. The department’s responsibilities are undertaken by 3 divisions: Crude Oil, GTL & Specialties, and Domestic Supply & Interface. 
The Crude Oil Division is responsible for all the commercial and marketing activities of QP’s Crude Oil entitlements. QP’s four Crude Oil grades are: Qatar Land (QLC), Qatar Marine (QMC), Al-Shaheen (ALS), and Al-Rayyan (ALR) Crudes. GTL & Specialties Division is responsible for the sales of QP's specialty products and mainly GTL products. Domestic Supply & Interface is responsible for maintaining local market's supply of Refined Products and facilitating the feedstock supply and delivery to existing and future projects in Qatar. It is also responsible for the importation of Refined Products whenever the need arises.
