QPSPP’s proprietary QTRADES system is an innovative scalable technology, purpose-built to support QPSPP’s unique marketing, sales and delivery process. It ensures that every aspect of QPSPP’s operations is monitored at all times, and that they adhere to the highest global standards.​


​The responsibility for the safety of personnel and the environment is shared among all stakeholders in Qatar’s energy sector. There is also recognition to safeguard Qatari marine facilities from the physical, financial and reputational damage that marine incidents can cause.

A ship quality assurance system named ‘SERDAL’ has been developed and implemented to screen ships over 500 gross tonnage, carrying gas, chemicals and petroleum products in bulk intending to call at QP controlled ports and terminals. QPSPP is required to operate this system in conjunction with the relevant QP Ports Regulations. 
QPSPP is a full and unconditional member of the Oil Companies International Maritime Forum (OCIMF) and supports the requirement of international conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, and STCW, as well as the guidelines set forth by OCIMF, SIGTTO, and ICS.  

As a minimum, QPSPP screens tankers according to the following criteria:

  • Ship Inspection Report Programme (SIRE) and Chemical Distribution Institute (CDI) Reports
  • Tanker Management and Self-Assessment (TMSA) Audit and Report
  • Port State Inspection, Casualty and Incident Report
  • Structural Assurance
  • Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Policy
  • Vessel Performance Report (VPR)​​
